With the forthcoming changes related to the city's ambitions and the consequences this has for (the surroundings of) the art and business park, a project group was set up in early 2019 to focus on planning for the outdoor space of the complex. In connection with this, HARDGREEN, together with the tenants on the site, has drafted a request and approached several landscape firms that will collaboratively develop a vision for the land managed in leasehold.
The starting points for planning and vision formation are the 'Future Study Nieuw en Meer', a report of self-study into the ethos of Nieuw en Meer, drafted in 2010 by Stad BV, and 'Explorations NM', a compilation of tenants' wishes bundled by the Lab Committee in 2018.
The HARDGREEN project group has a broad composition: in addition to a delegation from the board of the tenants' association Niks Minder and the Nieuw en Meer Foundation, the vast majority of the committees are represented, which due to the nature of their executive tasks they are responsible for, have an affinity with the planning for the art and business park.
