This working group, also known as the energy team or E-team, is involved in activities such as solar and wind energy. Solar panels have been installed on the roofs of the warehouses.

Starting from July 1, 2016, the solar panel installation on the warehouses and building D supplies electricity to the grid. This installation generates enough electricity every year to make Nieuw en Meer carbon-neutral in terms of electricity from now on.

News This summer, a total of 400 solar panels have been added, bringing the total number to 780. The annual yield of solar energy is approximately 0.2 megawatts, which is twice the consumption of the entire site.

This is arranged for us by Amsterdam Energy. An energy cooperative where, as a member (€1/year), you are co-owner of the energy company. They make all costs transparent and are honest about the qualities of the purchased energy. The profits go to sustainable cooperative projects in Amsterdam.
